Lifeguard and Swim Instructor
Summer (May-August 2022) Employment Opportunity, Term Position, 30 hours per week

Are you passionate about water safety? Do you think learning to swim is a critical life skill? Does the flexibility to work around school and life or the opportunity to add summer hours sound good to you? As part of the Y team you will play an important role ensuring the safety of our pool patrons and/or teaching kids to swim!

Qualifications

Are you the right fit?

• Enjoy working with kids
• Able to engage, motivate, encourage and guide members
• Able to build positive relationships with members, staff and volunteers
• Ability to deal with challenging situations

What else do you need?

• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification or Aquatic Emergency Care
• Ability to obtain YMCA Swim Instructor certification
• Fully immunized against COVID-19 or valid exemption
• Clear Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check

Lifeguard
• NL certification
Asset: LSI (Lifesaving Instructor)

Swim Instructor
• Bronze Cross or Higher
• YMCA Swim (YSI) or Water Safety (WSI) Instructor or Swim For Life Instructor
