Who are we Knowles Centre is a community-based, non-profit social service agency for children, adolescents and young adults facing difficult times in their lives. It began as a home for boys in 1907 and today provides a range of therapeutic and skills-based programs to young people from Manitoba and other communities throughout Canada. Knowles Centre is made up of a team of 130 full-time, part-time and casual employees. Each day we strive to help young people and their families address past struggles, develop healthier relationships and ways of life, and reach their full potential in the future.

Day Treatment – Support Worker
(Full time – Open Term possible to June 2026)
The main function of the position is to support Knowles Centre Day Treatment students within the John G. Stewart School setting. The Day Treatment Support Worker assists students between the ages of 12 and 17 who have become overwhelmed in the classroom to regulate, refocus on their schoolwork, and return to the classroom. The Day Treatment Support Worker supports the student’s treatment plan.
The ideal candidate should have:
• Experience working with high needs/at risk youth
• Experience with managing and problem-solving behavioral issues
• Experience in the area of mental health
• Experience working in the area of trauma
• An understanding of colonization, intergenerational trauma and have direct experience working with Indigenous clients;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work both independently, flexibly, and as part of an multi-disciplinary team
• Experience working in an alternative setting (camp)
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum Gr. 12, University Degree or RRC certificate/diploma in a related field is preferred
• Valid Manitoba Driver’s License
• First Aid/CRP/NVCI
• Successful applicant will be subject to Child Abuse Registry, Prior Contact and Criminal Record checks
As a condition of employment, proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.
