Are you passionate about water safety? Do you believe learning to swim is essential? As part of the Y team, the Aquatic Coordinator is responsible for providing support and guidance to the aquatic team. From ensuring the highest standard of safety and program quality, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring everyone has fun, you play an important role in the aquatic experience of our members and guests.

Qualifications

Are you the right fit?
• Able to monitor, evaluate and deliver quality Aquatic programs and classes
• Provide supervision, leadership, growth & development opportunities to Aquatics staff and volunteers
• Provide leadership and supervision to Membership Centre Staff and volunteers
• Manage and maintain YSI (YMCA Swim Instructor) program administration
• Fulfill all functions of a Lifeguard or Swimming Instructor/Supervisor as needed
• Experience in hiring, scheduling, payroll administration, supervising and coaching staff
• Monitor staff certifications, monthly budgets, program statistics, create reports and database management

What else do you need?
• 2-4 years of experience in Aquatics
• Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care certification (current)
• NL (National Lifeguard) Certification
• YSI (YMCA Swim Instructor) or equivalent
• LSI (Lifesaving Instructor)
Assets:
• NLI (National Lifeguard Instructor)
• LSI IT (Lifesaving Instructor – Instructor Trainer)
