Ensuring quality care to newcomer children and their families.

Essential Functions + Responsibilities
• Participate as a team member in the caring of children ages 19 months and up
• Share in the responsibility for planning, preparing, and implementing, age-appropriate activities that encourage
children’s creativity and promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Organize a safe environment conducive to play, actively engage in children’s play, and assist with snack time
• Establish and maintain regular communication with parents
• Light cleaning duties
• Perform other tasks assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Previous experience working with children
• Ability to positively engage with newcomer children and families
• Knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of children 19 months and up
• Flexible, adaptable and able work on short notice
• Work effectively independently as well as with others
• Culturally sensitive
• Working knowledge of computer (Microsoft Office)
