Apprentice Pipefitters

Overview

This position will be working directly with the Maintenance and Project Managers as well as other Pipefitters completing the layout, assembly, fabrication, maintenance , and repairing piping systems that carry water, steam, chemicals, or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.  

This position is based in Winnipeg on our client site. These opportunities are expected to start in September and be completed at the end of 2022. There is the potential that this position could last longer than the expected end date if our scope of work is expanded.  

What you’ll be doing:  

  

Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use and lay out the sequence of tasks.   
Draft detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation, as required.   
Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic, and fiberglass pipes, valves, and fittings.   
Join pipe sections, and related equipment and secure in position.   
Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks.   
Perform other duties as required.

Journeyperson Pipefitter certificate (Red Seal if out of province certificate) 
Ability to read and understand complex instructions   
Ability to do careful and exacting work   
Must have your own transportation and be able to travel to client site 
CSTS-2020 (online)
