This position is responsible for supporting the product development team in the efficient operation of the product development culinary kitchen.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan and execute events showcasing RFI products - ingredients
• Support the PD group with recipes, guidance documents and POS (point of sale) materials in regards to RFI products - ingredients
• Support PD Manager in the communication, hosting and presentations to customers’ in relation to RFI ingredients - projects
• Assist in basic analytical testing
• Operate kitchen and small scale pilot plant equipment
• Be able to create food samples: granola, pasta, oats, etc.
• Manage ingredient inventory, supplies and organization of the PD kitchen
• Assist PD staff in development tasks: pilot plant margarine and shortenings, fry tests, benchmark testing and/or prototype evaluation

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor of Food Science or related Applied Sciences, or Baking or Culinary Arts Diploma; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• C.C.C. designation from the Canadian Culinary Federation
• Red Seal Certification in Culinary (or international equivalent)
• Industry experience as a cook, baker and/or in food product development
• Applied product research or product development experience
• Food Handlers Certificate
• Experience in photography, preferably food products
• Experience with Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel
• Driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 20%
