Food & Beverage Manager

Overview

The Glencoe Golf & Country Club is looking for a Food & Beverage Manager to lead the Food & Beverage team.

We are a 45-hole private golf club on 440 acres, located just west of the city limits on Highway 8. The Glencoe Golf and Country Club takes pride in having a premium golf facility and is proud to offer superior dining venues with beautiful views, welcoming employees and spectacularly curated menus.

Our prime dining venues Westmoor Terrace + Tap and Bistro 45 were reopened in 2022 after vast renovations. Westmoor Terrace + Tap features a new expansive patio and is a warm, upscale-causal restaurant and lounge where members, families and guests can gather and connect. Bistro 45 serves as a vibrant hub for all members and guests, as they come and go between the golf course and Clubhouse. Our state-of-the-art kitchen was also newly renovated in 2021. The brightly lit, new kitchen is designed to improve efficiencies, organization, flow, and infrastructure, therefore providing an enhanced dining experience for our restaurant and event guests.

The Food and Beverage Manager is a part of the Senior Leadership Team at The Glencoe Golf & Country Club. You will help develop and lead the Food and Beverage leadership team and staff in delivering a high level of Food & Beverage service that meets or exceeds member expectations. The Food and Beverage Manager will support and play a vital role in member experience, financial performance and human resources of the department. You will assist with the development of annual operating and capital budgets in the Clubs and be a key part of the strategic planning process for the Food and Beverage department.

Responsibilities:
Performance and Service Management
• Ensure regular evaluation and feedback systems are developed and maintained.
• Establish regular contact with supervisors.
• Ensure all employees are knowledgeable and compliant regarding Club policy, general operating procedures, Service

Standards, and Workplace Health & Safety.
• Ensure member feedback systems for all F&B areas are developed and maintained.
• Ensure prompt response to member comments from appropriate supervisors.
• Monitor member satisfaction and track feedback results.

Administration
• Full cycle employee recruitment and interview process.
• Weekly Food and Beverage meeting facilitation.
• General upkeep of all Food and Beverage facilities, i.e. Communication with maintenance and housekeeping.
• Payroll administration.
• Menu planning including process, pricing, and timelines.

Training
• Establish, communicate and uphold standards of service.
• Ensure new employees receive effective onboarding and training.
• Promote ongoing technical and service training.
• Review the effectiveness of training programs regularly.
• Provide formal coaching for supervisory-level employees.
• Provide hands-on training for all service staff.
• Facilitate ProServe Training for service staff.

Financial
• Monitor budgets and expenses
• Ensure established cash and inventory controls are utilized and effective.
• Approval of purchases and payables when necessary
• Implement the annual operating and capital budgets for responsibility areas.
• Achieve financial goals.

Qualifications:
• A proven track record with at least 5-7 years of Food & Beverage senior leadership experience.
• WSET training or wine knowledge.
• Expertise in staff training and leadership.
• Strong financial management skills.
• Proven experience in leading both restaurant, kiosk and banquet services.
• Previous golf course or private club experience is an asset.
• Excellent communication, writing and public speaking skills.
• A diplomatic personality able to foster relationships with members, Committees and employees.
• Strong leadership and ambassadorial skills.
• A team player who can lead, organize, engage and train staff effectively.
• Experience in the administration of fun and enjoyable activities that create memories for the membership.
• Proven ability to enhance performance, through effective delegation, goal setting, coaching, empowerment, and recognition.
• High standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity.
• Ability to influence progress through cooperation, conflict resolution, and facilitation.
• Innovative approach through critical thinking, collaboration, and intelligent risk-taking.
• Strong business acumen complimented by financial and entrepreneurial skills.
• Reliable transportation is required as there is no public transportation to our location.

This position is a full-time year-round position. Workdays may include weekdays, weekends, and evenings.

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and is an integral part of the senior management team.
