JOB COACH
This is a part time position that is 20 hours a week supporting a young woman who brings smiles to her community. You will be supporting her daily, as she runs her own business, participates community events, and enjoys her fitness routine.
This position would be ideal for someone who is looking to work varied hours between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Advocate for and support a young woman who has Down Syndrome, and Type 1 diabetes.
• Ensure the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of the supported woman are being met.
• Support the medical needs and take specified training.
• Develop and facilitate positive relationships with the supported woman, her family, and her network.
• Provide transportation for work, the gym, and other destinations.
• Become knowledgeable of the supported woman’s skills, abilities, interests, and care levels.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• Must be receptive to working with a young lady who has down syndrome and type 1 diabetes.
• Class 5 Driver’s License with reliable vehicle and valid auto insurance.
• Must have a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.
• Must have a clear Child and Adult abuse registry check.
• Must be willing to take paid training in First Aid/CPR certification.
• Must have cell phone with data plan.
• Must be willing to attend diabetes in-service as well as other relevant in-services.
A competitive compensation package including mileage is offered and an RRSP option is offered after your probationary period has been successfully completed.
