Summer Resource Technician
Overview
Seine Rat Roseau Watershed District is hiring 2 full time seasonal Resource Technicians for the period from May 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023. The Resource Technicians will assist with the implementation of summer programming and projects for the current season; collect land elevations using precision GPS equipment in a competent and reliable manner; collecting surface water samples on waterways within the District; administering water infiltration tests at project locations; support the Project Supervisor and other staff with project preparation, management and events; assist with facility maintenance at the Tourond Creek Discovery Centre and other projects.
Qualifications
The Resource Technician should have completed at least one year of relevant post-secondary education; an environment/agriculture/social science/science/engineering background is an asset; enjoy working outdoors; must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License; excellent interpersonal skills, approachable, resourceful, self-motivated, able to work independently and communicate clearly; knowledge of Excel, map reading and GPS an asset; background knowledge of the SRRWD program an asset; knowledge of multiple languages considered an asset.
