Is working outside your dream job? Do you like fixing things, maintaining property & equipment? Do you care about things working properly and meeting guidelines and standards? Are you a person who learns a job and then works independently? Does being around happy young people and dedicated staff appeal to you? If that sounds like you, let’s talk about what we need and what you can offer. This job is full-time and seasonal for about four months and room and board is provided on top of your salary. You’ll need a current Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check. If you’re the right person for the job, we can help you obtain those. Qualifications
- able to work within, and support, principles of the Christian faith as determined by the Bishop
- evidence of experience and skills in a role with similar responsibilities
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member
- ability to assume responsibility and prioritize tasks
- evidence of sensitivity to the needs of young people with an ability to respond appropriately
- evidence of communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills
- demonstrates enthusiasm, sense of humour, patience and self-control
- physically and psychologically capable of carrying out the requirements of the position
- possesses vision, hearing and mobility sufficient to protect self and others in dangerous situations
- capable of lifting and transferring 15 – 25 kgs in a safe manner
- able to perform duties on a regular basis (i.e., good attendance)
- ability to respect and promote confidentiality
- for staff over 18, satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- experience working in a faith-based, or a non-profit organization
- current CPR and First Aid
- WHMIS
- formal education in any trade
- valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence
