Agriculture Summer Student
Overview
Roquette Canada Limited (RCL), located in Portage La Prairie, is ready to take the next step in their team growth and development. RCL is hiring its first ever Agriculture Summer Student. This is an incredible opportunity to join a team that works in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility. Our plant offers the latest technology, equipment and tooling for our employees and partners. The Agriculture Summer Student provides support to our Agronomy and Raw Materials Team, while working very closely with our local producers. This is a hands-on opportunity that will provide real life experiences over the four-month term.
Responsibilities:
• Visit pea fields and gather cropping intelligence that supports procurement strategy
• Collect, enter, and analyze data focusing on trends and opportunities
• Support the ongoing sustainability plan that enhances pea protein sales to North American food processors
• Assist in developing, planning, and executing a customer appreciation event
• Collaborate on current strategy that increases brand awareness and the RCL profile with producers
• Be a first point of contact and provide excellent customer service to our farming customers
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Currently studying in the faculty of Agriculture focusing on Business or Agronomy
• Strong interest and knowledge of Agriculture and local farmer markets
• Knowledge of the farming business with experience in a farming environment
• Highly self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Have at a minimum a Class 5 Valid Driver’s license
• Enjoy collaboration and working cross departmentally
