Summer Communications Assistant
Overview
Agriculture in the Classroom- Manitoba Inc. (AITC-M) is a non-profit organization supported by individual members and the agriculture industry. The organization runs several programs throughout the year including the Manitoba Ag Days Adventure, thinkAG Career Expo, Follow the Farmers, gardening programs and other special events. AITC-M also develops and distributes teacher resources like the Manitoba Seed Kit and Eat Well: Exploring Canada’s Food Guide to help deliver agriculture information for use within the school curriculum.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual looking for experience in communications, marketing and design this summer. Based in the Winnipeg area, the full-time Summer Communications Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting our team with communications tasks including writing, editing, and design. This job is based out of your home office with minimal requirements for in-person meetings.
Qualifications
Key skill set includes:
• Post-secondary education in Creative Communications or a similar program of study
• Excellent writing skills with a passion for storytelling
• A good eye for design and ability to follow brand guidelines
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience managing social media for business would be an asset
• Strong planning, decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Self-directed, highly organized, task oriented, with proven team skills
• Experience in the Manitoba agricultural and/or Manitoba education fields would be an asset
