Excavation Sewer and Water Foreman
Overview
The Excavation Team at Alternative Group works on a wide range of products, including sewer and water installation, total lot clearing, demolition, site preparation excavation and back filling.
We're looking for an experience Sewer and Water Foreman to join our team.
About the job:
-Oversees jobsites and crew activities, other operators, and labourers, ensuring strict adherence to safe work practices, equipment maintenance and crew performances.
-Administers job processes such as delivering toolbox talks and completing safety and equipment reports, and ensures required equipment and tools are ready for shift.
-Operate equipment such as an excavator during construction and related activities.
-Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment, and keep maintenance records for each piece of equipment.
-Maintains active communication with all other crew members and ensures strict adherence to construction and safety regulations.
-Visually inspect construction sites to check for land grading, underground utility locations, overhead obstacles, and other obstacles that may deter or affect construction.
Qualifications
Requirements:
-Ability to work outdoors in all weather and frequently lift heavy materials; strength and endurance are essential to this job.
-Strong communication skills to relay information to other crew members and receive instructions from the job foreman.
-Mechanical skills to correctly identify equipment issues.
-Strong attention to detail (aware and observant) at all times to notice anything that may compromise job safety or construction tasks.
-Ability to read blueprints, schematics and construction plans.
-Valid Drivers License required. Class 3 with Air Preferred.
-Minimum 3 years of Sewer and Water experience.
