Introduction
The Manitoba Human Rights Commission is seeking a qualified individual to fill the Bilingual Administrative Secretary position located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Bilingual Administrative Secretary plays an important role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Commission's operations by executing the administrative operations associated with the disposition of human rights complaints and adjudication files in both official languages.

Duties:
Reporting to the Director of Intake and Mediation/Policy and Investigation, this position provides administrative and clerical support, timekeeping and accounting services to the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, including the Executive Director, legal counsel, and the Board of Commissioners.

Qualifications:
Essential:
Excellent verbal communication skills in French
Excellent written communication skills in French
Excellent verbal communication skills in English
Excellent written communication skills in English
Experience performing a full range of administrative/clerical duties including but not limited to experience drafting correspondence, providing reception, assessing and responding to inquiries and file maintenance
Experience with basic financial and accounting processes including expense reports, processing of accounts payable and financial recordkeeping
Accuracy and attention to detail
Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
Ability to deal with confidential information and use discretion in handling sensitive materials
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Effective problem solving and decision making skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook) or equivalent applications
Experience with time keeping, procurement and financial functions using SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing) or equivalent software

Desired:
Successful completion of a recognized secretarial/administrative training program
