Research Assistant (Summer 2024)
Overview
Manitoba Diversification Centres are non-profit, applied research organizations directed by local producers and industry. The province’s four centres conduct applied research and demonstrations on crops, technology and best management practices. Their work advances primary production while supporting sustainable agronomic solutions that benefit local communities and support the growth of agri-food and agri-product processing.
The Manitoba Crop Diversification Centre, located in Carberry – MB, invites applications for Research Assistant positions to assist in agricultural applied research operations from May 1 to August 30, 2024. This is a full-time, seasonal position with the possibility of full or part-time extension into fall to assist with harvest and post-harvest operations.
Qualifications
This is an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates to broaden their knowledge of crop production, field scouting, and disease/weed management and gain insight into in-field research and extension methodologies.
Applicants must have a valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license.
This position is geared towards college/university-level students and recent graduates. However, anyone with an interest in agricultural research operations may apply. Open until filled.
