Summer Resource Technician
Overview
Seine Rat Roseau Watershed District will be hiring 3 positions for summer 2024 with employment period beginning May 1, 2024 and ending August 31, 2024 (with potential for extension to end of November). Hours per week are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Interested applicants should send a cover letter and resume by March 1, 2024 to administrator@srrwd.ca
Responsibilities/Duties include:
- assist with the implementation of summer programming and projects for the current season
- collect land elevations using precision GPS equipment in a competent and reliable manner
- collect surface water samples on waterways with the Watershed District
- administer water infiltration tests at project locations
- support the Project Supervisor and other staff with project preparation, management, and events
- assist with light maintenance of office, lawn and garden
- assist with facility maintenance at the Tourond Creek Discovery Centre and other projects
Qualifications
Qualifications/Skills include:
- completed at least one year of relevant post-secondary education
- Environment/Agriculture/Social Science/Science/Engineering background is an asset
- drone experience considered an asset
- enjoy working outdoors
- must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a vehicle
- excellent interpersonal skills, approachable, resourceful, self-motivated, able to work independently and communicate clearly
- knowledge of Excel, map reading and GPS an asset
- knowledge of multiple languages considered an asset
