Construction Estimator

As an estimator, your role involves assessing construction projects, estimating materials needed and their costs, and presenting proposals to both existing and potential customers. You'll need strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain customer relationships, as well as a deep understanding of construction materials and methods. Collaborating with contractors and staying updated on industry trends are crucial aspects of this role. Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential for closing deals and ensuring successful project outcomes. This is a full-time position and reports directly to the owners. Duties:
-Estimate material requirements from a blueprint.
-Build relationships with contractors.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Analyze project scope and identify potential risks and opportunities
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and prepare material, labor, and equipment cost estimates
- Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to clients
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules
-Understand and be able to explain building code requirements to customers.
-Submit estimates personally and in a timely manner.
-Establish relationships with both existing and new customers.
-Send orders for projects to our suppliers as required.
