Community Therapist
Part-Time
Permanent
(24-32 hours per week, Days)

The therapist provides direct assessment and treatment services to Knowles Centre youth clients at two Winnipeg community schools.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Five years of clinical experience working with youth, families, and direct service workers
• Excellent assessment and counselling skills
• Experience working with children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health struggles
• Experience with individual therapy
• Understanding, training and experience in the area of trauma and trauma informed practices
• An understanding of colonization, intergenerational trauma, and Indigenous practices and have direct experience working with Indigenous clients.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills
• The ability to work both independently and flexibility

Qualifications

A Masters degree (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy) is required.

The therapist will receive regular supervision. The successful applicant will have a clear Criminal Record Check, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks, Prior Contact Check, possess a valid driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle.
