Youth Care Worker (Full-time, Open Term)

Duties:
• Engage and nurture youth in our Healing Homes
• Provide and promote opportunities to increase participation in Traditional Indigenous practices for Indigenous clients
• To support and assist children in exploring their culture
• Participation in recreational programming is required
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team
• Participate in the development of client care plans

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Minimum Gr.12, or diploma/degree in Child Youth Care, Addictions and Community Service, Family Support, Community Development, Social Work etc. Other related programs will be considered
• Experience working with youth ages 12-17
• Respectful of cultural diversity
• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous History, culture, practices, customs and beliefs
• Excellent and proven interpersonal and supportive counselling skills
• Experience working with youth facing behavioral and emotional challenges
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Valid Manitoba Driver’s License

Salary: $17.88 - $22.76
Schedule: Monday- 2:00 pm – 12:00 am. Wednesday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Thursday, 2:00 pm – 12:00 am and Sunday, 2:00 pm – 12:00 am.
