Mentorship Coordinator

Overview

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A diploma/degree in a relevant field of study (including but not limited to Indigenous Studies, Community Services, Social Sciences).
Experience working in the field of Community Services, Child & Youth Care, Disability & Community Support and/or Early Childhood Education, specifically working with Indigenous children, youth, families, and adults.
Self identifies as an Indigenous person
Lived experience and/or expertise in Indigenous knowledges, Indigeogy, epistemologies, methodologies, histories, traditions, and/or languages
Extensive knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, knowledge systems and community relationship building practices as well as Truth and Reconciliation
Effective leadership skills
Strong presentation skills
The ability to create a positive classroom environment for diverse learners with a commitment to student success
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
Effective written communications skills
Effective verbal communications skills
The ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Teaching for Learning Certificate or equivalent Adult Education certification
Experience instructing and training in a post-secondary or community services setting
Related Master's Degree (Masters of Social Work or other related program)
