We’re hiring a Business Advisor to join our team at Me-Dian Credit Union. Reporting to the Manager of Business Relationships, the Business Advisor will demonstrate a strong commitment to member relationships through the development of a deep understanding of individual members and their business connections with the credit union.
What you’ll do:
• Conduct comprehensive financial, management, and security analyses of commercial applications. Prepare detailed credit submissions and secure approvals from the relevant authority.
• Collaborate with the Business Development Manager and Business Analyst to draft term sheets, commitment letters, and loan documentation as needed.
• Monitor commercial delinquencies on a weekly basis, ensuring adherence to delinquency procedures. Manage the overdraft report daily and coordinate with members to establish payment plans if required.
• Interview members and potential members, analyze and approve credit products within set limits, and escalate applications exceeding these limits to management for further review. Provide expert financial guidance, promote financial literacy, and recommend suitable products and services.
• Prepare and manage all documentation related to products and services provided to members.
• Address member inquiries about credit products, account and loan activities, service charges, etc. Update member information in the banking system and document key conversations or payment arrangements for delinquency, including implementing necessary restrictions.
• Maintain and organize all commercial paper files to ensure they are up-to-date.
• Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned to support departmental objectives.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
• Post-Secondary education in Business Administration with a focus on Financial Services OR 5+ years previous professional experience in a financial institution.
• 5+ years in a sales environment, with a proven track record.
• Strong Commitment to teamwork with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to work under minimal supervision, within a highly regulated environment.
• Ability to interact with members from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Community focused, whether our own community or other communities.
