Truth and Reconciliation: Events & Activities

-
Truth & Reconciliation Events and Activities.

We are thrilled with the many requests we had this year to bring Elders, Knowledge Keepers and cultural learning opportunities directly into the classroom. From blanket exercises to medicine teachings, staff and students are taking the learning to a deeper level. We are also supporting the community in honouring, bringing awareness and educating everyone. In Brandon, events and activities are scheduled at the Riverbank Discovery Centre in Brandon, and staff and students are encouraged to participate.

September 27
Orange Shirt Day at Assiniboine

September 30th is the official Orange Shirt Day, which is a day of honouring and recognition. We ask that staff and students wear orange shirts not only on the 30th, but the work day of September 27th, to recognize and reaffirm that every child matters.

At 2:15 p.m. of this day, the College will observe a 1-minute moment of silence in recognition of all of the found, unmarked graves, Survivors of residential schools and their families.
