Overview
Our fast-paced Vancouver office is looking to add 2 highly capable Civil Design Technologists to our Indigenous Communities, Municipal, and Design Build practices. The Vancouver teams generally work for small to medium-sized municipal and Indigenous communities.
Coupled with the diverse learning and project experience opportunities, do you see yourself excited to contribute to:
• Honing your civil engineering knowledge and skills through drafting and design tasks using Civil 3D.
• Supporting project teams with drawing production, construction specifications, and quantity calculations.
• Attending project meetings, collaborating closely with clients/contractors/internal team members whilst listening, communicating, and developing consulting and project documentation skills.
• Supporting field inspection during construction projects.
• Communicating effectively with team members, clients, and contractors.
• Completing design calculations for civil infrastructure and preparing technical reports.
• Supporting the project management design and construction of projects.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will be a graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology program, or an equivalent program, with 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in civil design. Given the variety of project needs and our desire to find the right person to join our team, we will consider candidates with a range of experience and education, and encourage both new graduates and intermediate techs to apply.
The core skills that will help you succeed here include:
• You are proficient in Civil 3D for designing and drafting tasks.
• You have excellent drafting skills and knowledge of drawing set-up and production.
• You are proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
• You have a keen eye for detail and take great pride in your work, in projects both large and small.
• You communicate effectively with others to ensure clear and efficient collaboration with team members
• You are committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
• You are registered or eligible for registration with ASTTBC or an equivalent Provincial association.
• You have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.
• Experience with survey principles and construction will be considered an asset.
