As a Recreation Inclusion Support Facilitator, you will have an important portfolio, facilitating participation of people of varying abilities in the community activities of their choice. You will need to be a compassionate, empathetic and detail-oriented person who possesses strong listening and oral communication skills to be successful in this role. Patience, a passion for helping people and being a team player are also essential attributes. You may be working with one participant or a group of children; all who need help and care to integrate and feel included. This means assisting with the development, planning and implementation of inclusive recreational activities for children with inclusion needs and assisting with personal care and health needs in a variety of settings including at the playground, gym, pool, washroom, at lunch and on field trips. You will ensure integration of participants into recreational programs by using assistive technology and resolving accessibility issues. Each day you will make a difference in the lives of participants and will be contributing to improving the quality of life for our military.
We have one temporary full-time position available, offering up to 75 hours bi-weekly, and a term of approximately 10 weeks between the months of July 2025 and August 2025.
Wage Range: $19.11 – 20.26 per hour. (Commuting allowance available for those who qualify.)
Start Date: July 7, 2025.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
Behavior Management Systems certification
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)/Intensive Behavioural Intervention
(IBI) Therapy training, an asset
Current Automated External Defibrillator (A.E.D.) certification
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Accessibility Training
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation)
HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of probation)
Experience
In supporting children/adolescents with special needs
In delivering activities for children with special needs
In leading children in activities
In behavior management
In alternate communication methods
In applying safety protocols and procedures
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
