Position Summary:

West Lynn Heights School is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Resource Teacher to support inclusive education and meet diverse learner needs from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The Resource Teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers, educational assistants, school staff, families, and divisional support teams to provide individualized programming and academic intervention. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering success for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Provide direct instruction and small group interventions as needed

Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and adapt materials

Monitor and document student progress and adjust programming accordingly

Coordinate with divisional clinicians and external agencies

Support transitions between grade levels and into post-secondary pathways

Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education degree and preferably a Master's Degree in Education or related field

Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)

Manitoba Special Education certificate or certification in progress

Previous experience as a Resource Teacher

Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life

Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction

Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment

Familiar with appropriate educational programming

Ability to complete provincial documentation requirements for appropriate educational programming

Ability to interpret educational and cognitive assessments

Willingness to be trained in intervention programs presently in place

A commitment to continue to support on-going programs in the school

Strong verbal and written communication skills
