The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.
The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Program Manager position within our Red River Métis Veterans Department located at 90 Sutherland Ave in Winnipeg, MB. The Program Manager is responsible for managing programs and activities for the Department.
Qualifications
Job Duties/Competencies:
• Organize programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the department;
• Develop new programs to support the strategic plan of the department;
• Create and manage long-term goals;
• Develop a budget and operating plan for all programs;
• Ensure goals are met in areas including citizen satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance;
• Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement;
• Write program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services;
• Produce accurate and timely reports of program statuses throughout life cycle;
• Manage a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities;
• Promote Metis Veterans programs and services, communicate policies, procedures and guidelines to clients and the public.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field of study;
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in developing and managing programs;
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff;
• Strong judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
• Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;
• Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
