Overview
Position Description:
The Shilo Military Family Resource Centre offers programming for children and youth in kindergarten to grade 12 who meet our mandate. These programs deliver content in the following areas: educational, social/emotional and life skills preparation. Under the supervision of the Youth Program Coordinator and/or the Youth Program Facilitator, the Casual Youth Worker will assist in the planning and delivery of programs both on and off-site.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist in planning and implementing programming for youth
• The health and safety of youth
• Engaging in play
• Spontaneous activities
• Communication with parents, supervisor(s) and other staff
• Cleaning/daily duties
Terms of reference:
• Shifts fall on evenings, weekends and school in service days.
• Wage: $17.06/hr
• Mileage compensation available if commuting more than 16km

Qualifications
Requirements:
• Experience working with children and youth in both structured and unstructured environments.
• Must demonstrate competence in the following areas: understanding and following directions, interpersonal skills and problem solving.
• First Aid/CPR, Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry check.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.
