Tri-Core Projects Ltd. is a Manitoba-based full service civil and environmental construction company that has been proudly operating since 2003. Our operations include demolition, site preparation, excavation, underground service installation, remediation services, telecom, and special projects.
We are currently looking to recruit one skilled and dedicated Truck and Transport Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate has their Journeyperson or Red Seal certification in the Truck & Transport trade, or soon will. This person is confidently able to service, repair, diagnose, assemble and maintain a fleet of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and transport equipment. This person will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards to minimize downtime and support operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Perform repair and routine maintenance work on semi-trucks, trailers, and other vehicles as assigned
· Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized equipment and other testing to determine extent of repair required
· Respond to breakdowns and perform field repairs when necessary
· Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools
· Test repaired equipment to ensure that it meets manufacturers' specifications
· Create and complete equipment work orders with detailed repair information in an accurate and timely manner
· Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
· Service and repair various attachments and working tools
· Attach components and make adjustments to new and used equipment
· Perform general shop duties; this may include sweeping the floors, cleaning equipment, and removing garbage
· Assist Technicians in conducting preventative maintenance and repairs
· Work closely with Supervisor and team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
· Red Seal or Journeyperson certification in Truck and Transport
· Possess a valid Class 5 license (a Class 3 with Airbrakes endorsement is a strong asset) and clean Driver's Abstract
· Minimum three (3) years’ experience in relevant repairs and maintenance
· Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, and electrical systems
· Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset
· Possess a strong work ethic and be consistently punctual
· Willing and able to work longer days as required and travel out-of-town for extended periods of time
· Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
· Ability to work independently and demonstrate a strong initiative
· Ability to communicate effectively with crew members (written and spoken English)
· Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple concurrent work orders
· Have basic computer skills
· Clear Criminal Background Check ( may be required for secure sites)
