Resource Technician Assistant

Redboine Watershed District

Overview

Resource Technicians will assist with water and soil projects within the district. This will include surveying, hauling supplies and equipment to job sites, installing culverts and gates, sealing abandoned wells, mowing at nature preserves, water testing and data entry. The technicians will also participate in local water festivals and the Envirothon.

Qualifications

**Qualifications**

Preferably enrolled in post-secondary programs surrounding earth sciences. (ie. Land and water Management, GIS/Geomatics, Agriculture etc.)

Experience with GPS and GIS would be looked upon greatly.

Must hold a valid class 5 driver’s license.

Agriculture background is a definite asset.

Able to work alone, or with a team safely.
DUTIES:

Assist in daily and summer projects such as dam building, well sealing, erosion protection etc.

Work directly with landowners in the district.

Assist in all GPS surveying and GIS analysis.

Attend and assist with workshops, seminars, education days etc.

Help with advertising the Watershed Districts.

Daily housekeeping duties as needed.

Follow safety guidelines.
