Overview
Rock Lake United Church Camp Inc. is a summer camp affiliated with the United Church of Canada providing camping experiences for children aged 7-15 years old. The camp is located on the north shore of Rock Lake, approximately 150 km. southwest of Winnipeg. Our goal is to provide youth with a fun-filled camping experience in a beautiful outdoor setting. Some of the camp activities include kayaking, archery, canoeing, hiking, nature science, dramas and skits, dances and campfires.
This is a youth camp with campers present 24 hours a day. Daily hours of work will be between 8 and 12 hours and are determined by the camp activities with scheduled breaks for the staff throughout the day. The salary also includes room and board.
Qualifications
Position will start prior to July 6. Date to be determined at hiring.
Flexible start date, MUST be at camp July 6 – August 16th. $800/week, plus room and board.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have NLS (National Lifeguard – Pool or Waterfront)
certification, Intermediate First Aid, CPR-C and AED training, as well as canoeing experience.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to); the safety and maintenance of beach area and aquatic
equipment, lifeguarding, planning and directing waterfront activities, providing emergency response,
administering first aid as required (sometimes with limited facilities), ensuring medical emergency help
is arranged if necessary, maintaining detailed records of actions taken in relation to the health and first
aid of campers, and helping in other camping areas as assigned by the Camp Coordinator & Program
Director.
