Overview

As a greenskeeper, you will be trained on different equipment to maintain all playing surfaces on the golf course. You will maintain greens, tee box areas, turf on fairways, sand traps and rough. You will perform basic horticultural duties such as planting and pruning trees, shrubs and flowers, creating, maintaining flowerbeds, spreading topsoil, laying sod, planting flowers and assist with the construction of a landscape and related structures.

You will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing golf course buildings, structures and accessories such as fences, benches and stakes, removing rocks from fairways and repairing and filling fairway and tee divots.

OTHER INFORMATION
Be able to perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23kg).
As part of the selection process, the successful candidate must successfully complete a Reliability status security screening.
This is an on-site Temporary Full-Time position with a term of approximately 12 weeks between June and September.

Qualifications

Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma AND some years of experience in landscaping
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered
AND
Valid Driver’s Licence (Manitoba)

Experience
In landscaping or grounds maintenance
In operating specialized turf care equipment

Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Essential, Bilingual (French and English) an asset
Reading: Advanced
Writing: Functional
Oral: Advanced
