As the Fleet Manager, you’ll drive safety, compliance, and operational performance while guiding long-term fleet strategy and asset management. Working closely with Operations and Senior Leadership, you’ll play a key role in ensuring fleet reliability, cost control, and sustainable growth.
This role can be based out of either Brandon or Niverville, Manitoba, and requires frequent travel between all of MWM’s locations, including Winnipeg, Niverville, Souris, Brandon, Morden-Winkler, and Portage la Prairie, to support operations and collaboration across the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Oversee daily fleet maintenance, servicing, and repair operations across all locations while leading and developing technicians and shop personnel.
• Coordinate work planning, monitor productivity and labor utilization, manage vendors, and ensure safe, efficient shop operations.
• Ensure fleet compliance with provincial and federal regulations while maintaining accurate inspection, licensing, and preventative maintenance records.
• Promote a strong safety culture and support incident investigations, corrective actions, and regular shop safety inspections.
• Develop long-term fleet replacement and capital acquisition strategies aligned with operational growth and performance needs.
• Conduct lifecycle and repair-vs-replace analysis while overseeing fleet registration, insurance, and asset retirement planning.
• Monitor fleet performance metrics, maintenance costs, and budgets while providing reporting, variance analysis, and cost-optimization recommendations.
• Support procurement processes, vendor negotiations, and present fleet performance updates to senior leadership.
• Manage parts inventory and implement structured processes for work orders, inventory control, and vendor services while maintaining accurate fleet system data.
• Partner with Operations and leadership teams to ensure fleet readiness, support operational priorities, and communicate fleet strategy and performance insights.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related field is an asset.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Fleet Manager (CFM), TDG, or vehicle inspection certification are considered assets
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet management, transportation operations, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience leading technicians, mechanics, or operational teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel) and fleet or maintenance management systems (Fleetio).
• Demonstrated experience managing fleet budgets, capital planning (CAPEX), and lifecycle replacement strategies.
• Strong leadership, team development, and performance management skills.
• Experience working with vendors, service providers, and equipment suppliers.
