Overview
We are seeking a creative, community-minded Social Media Coordinator to join our team in a full-time, one-year term position, with the possibility of extension. This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of local connection, small business relationships, and culturally relevant marketing within the Dauphin area.
About the Role
The Social Media Coordinator will manage and execute social media strategies for a variety of local clients. Many of our clients are established small business owners who value personal relationships and hands-on support. This position requires strong communication skills, cultural awareness, creativity, and patience.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute social media strategies tailored to each client
Create engaging content including graphics, captions, short-form videos, and campaigns
Film and edit video content for social media (Reels, promotional videos, highlights, etc.)
Manage and schedule posts across platforms (primarily Facebook and Instagram)
Utilize social media management tools (including Meta Business Suite)
Meet with clients to brainstorm ideas, gather content, and provide guidance
Ensure content reflects local culture, traditions, and community events
Provide ongoing support to clients who may require additional guidance with technology and digital marketing
Monitor analytics and adjust strategies for growth and engagement
Ideal Candidate
Community-oriented with strong knowledge of the Dauphin area and its businesses
Sensitive to and knowledgeable about cultural traditions and local events
Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
Proficient in graphic design and content creation software
Experience with video filming and editing for social platforms
Comfortable working with clients who may be less familiar with digital tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Patient, professional, and able to explain digital concepts clearly
Self-motivated and organized, able to manage multiple client accounts
Qualifications
Experience in social media management, marketing, communications, or a related field
Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools
Experience with Meta Business Suite, and Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, & TikTok.
Experience creating and editing short-form video content preferred
Portfolio of previous content creation work (graphics and video) preferred
Job Type: Fixed term contract
