Overview

Glenboro Consumers Co-op is hiring a Meat Manager on a permanent basis, onsite out of the Food Store in Glenboro, MB.

What you’ll do:
The Meat Manager is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and directing all aspects of the Meat department operations while maintaining a profitable department, high quality products and outstanding service levels. Key responsibilities include:
• Completing meat cutting tasks such as product cutting, pricing, packaging, and providing superb customer service.
• Ensuring adherence to the departmental budget.
• Overseeing inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock management.
• Ensuring the department is well-merchandised, with accurate promotions and engaging displays.
• Participating in the recruitment, training, development, and performance management of team members.
• Providing hands-on leadership and daily support to team members by fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Who you’ll work with:
The Team: You will work closely with Retail Manager and Grocery Supervisor and the Meat Department Assistant.
The Community: Join a small supportive community with a local hospital, skating rink, curling club and a K-12 school. Glenboro is only minutes away from Spruce Woods Provincial Park, and has nearby lakes for fishing and outdoor activities.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:
• Have 2-5 years of experience within a retail meat department, with 1+ year of leadership experience being considered an asset.
• Possess exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, and strong organizational abilities.
