Site Maintenance Engineer

Overview

The Site Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of the three R&D facilities (2 in Winnipeg and 1 in Carman, MB) and machinery/equipment used in R&D and production processes, ensuring safety and quality in alignment with applicable procedures and policies.
Key Activities:
Ensure proper functioning of all facilities and equipment used for operational processes in controlled environment seed production, specialized R&D and lab equipment and essential building equipment and systems.
Develop and implement a robust preventive maintenance program.
Demonstrate ability and working knowledge to conduct and complete maintenance on company facilities and equipment across the two three sites.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all equipment and facility maintenance activities, leveraging internal IT systems (e.g. CMMS – Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Maintain metrics and other relevant information to drive efficiency.
Monitor equipment performance and analyze failure trends to predict and prevent future issues.
Recommend and implement improvements to enhance performance or efficiency.
Independently troubleshoot mechanical, electrical or control system issues and perform or oversee repairs to restore equipment to good working condition.
Maintain an active inventory of parts, supplies and tools to complete needed maintenance and repairs and meet equipment uptime objectives.
Coordinate with 3rd party contractors when outside service is required.
Comply with all applicable hazardous work permits, including but not limited to; Lock out Tag Out (LOTO), line breaking, fall protection, confined space, and atmospheric monitoring.
Create and promote a safe work environment which includes ensuring all equipment meets and/or exceeds all SSHE and CCOHS requirements.
Ensure all maintenance work adheres to safety regulations, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures. Conducts risk assessment and implement safety protocols.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Valid 3rd Class Power Engineer certification
Demonstrated proficiency and aptitude across mechanical, electrical HVAC and control systems
Understanding of geothermal systems
‘Hands-on' mentality and a strong focus on achieving results
Availability to work 40 hours per week and meet overtime demands
Valid driver's license
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
