Moose Hide Campaign Day Community Walk
Take Action to End Violence Against Women and Children
Join Assiniboine College and the Brandon Urban Aboriginal Peoples' Council for a community walk, followed by a BBQ. All are warmly welcome to attend – RAIN OR SHINE.
Stand in ceremony and solidarity as our community takes a stand against gender-based violence. Together, we are part of a growing national movement—bringing Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, organizations, and communities together to end violence against women and children.
Originating over a decade ago along British Columbia’s Highway of Tears, the Moose Hide Campaign is an Indigenous-led grassroots initiative grounded in ceremony, cultural teachings, and healing. A central symbol of the campaign is the moose hide pin, representing a personal commitment to honour, respect, and protect women and children, and to speak out against violence.
By participating in our local walk, you’ll help raise awareness, support reconciliation, and contribute to creating safer, more respectful communities. Open to all ages and backgrounds, this event is an opportunity to come together, learn, and take meaningful action toward ending violence.
