Job Description - Electric Motor & Tool Repair Technician
An Electric Motor & Tool Repair Technician is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, repair, and overhaul of electric motors, tools, and other electrical equipment. Their key duties include inspecting and testing electric motors, troubleshooting electrical issues, and performing repairs or replacements as needed.
We will provide on the job training if you do not have all the preferred skill.
Job duties
Here are some of the main activities and tasks that Electric Motor & Tool Repair Technicians will perform, and some of the physical demands they involve:
Test and observe electrical, electronic and mechanical components and systems using testing and measuring instruments
Troubleshoot and repair electric motors/ power tools, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipment
Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components
Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
Test repaired motors/ power tools, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance
Perform some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators or other parts
Other duties as assigned
mechanical: 1 year (preferred but not required)
Qualifications
Applicants who meet the desired qualifications will be contacted for an interview:
Strong mechanical knowledge/experience is preferred (will train)
Availability of Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Ability to interact professionally with customers (in person and on phone)
Able to produce invoicing and/or receiving payments
Capable of loading/unloading mechanical equipment
