The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.

The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Finance Clerk position located within our Southeast Regional Office in Grand Marais, MB. Under the supervision of the Regional Administrator, the Finance Clerk is responsible for the verification calculation, processing, recording, remitting, and reconciling all relevant documentation for accounts receivable and payable.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Competencies:

• Complete required travel requisitions, cheque requisitions, purchase orders etc. and submits for approval;
• Schedule and process travel arrangements;
• Calculate, code and process vouchers;
• Assist in budget and cash flow preparation;
• Calculate and prepare cheque requisitions for accounts payable;
• Complete necessary financial forms, monthly reports and documentation;
• Review, summarize and reconcile receipts and expense claims;
• Calculate, prepare and process invoices for accounts payable & receivable;
• Perform clerical duties, such as drafting correspondence, maintaining financial record systems, faxing and photocopying;
• Maintains financial filing system both hard copy and electronic.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Accounting related certificate or diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Minimum of two years finance experience including but not limited to accounts payable and accounts receivable;
• Experience working with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office is considered an asset;
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
• Acceptable Enhanced Criminal Record Check and Credit Check is required;
• Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
• Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
• Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
