Senior Loan Specialist

Reporting to the Lending Director, the Senior Loan Specialist is responsible for leading a team of Loan Specialists by displaying the values of MASC along with strong business acumen and technical knowledge. The Senior Loan Specialist is responsible for the performance of team members, through onboarding, training, coaching, mentoring, and monitoring, ensuring timely communication and collaboration.

The incumbent supports the delivery of lending services, ensuring the highest level of customer service and quality standards are met or exceeded, lending policies are followed and risk to the corporation is minimized. The Senior Loan Specialist has approval authority within defined limits.

Qualifications

MASC has five core competencies: communication, decision making, initiative & innovation, leadership, and organization. Competencies relate to every position at MASC and along with the technical requirements, are included in the qualifications for all positions at MASC.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post secondary education in agriculture, commerce or business and several years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
• Extensive experience in a broad range of agricultural lending.
• Experience with loan product delivery and administration.
• Extensive experience in analyzing complex personal and corporate financial statements for decision-making purposes.
• Experience with property appraisals and security valuations.
• Experience interpreting and applying regulations, policies, procedures and contracts.
• Knowledge of agricultural production and farm business management.
• Ability to lead and supervise team members including training, coaching, and mentoring.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and accuracy, including numerical accuracy.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) in a cloud-based environment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Supervisory experience is an asset.
• Experience in commercial lending is an asset.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must possess a valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba.
