Shop Manager – Prairie Fleet (Killarney, MB)

Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a reliable, hard-working individual to fill the role of Shop Manager at our Prairie Fleet facility in Killarney, MB. Reporting to the General Manager of Prairie Fleet, this individual will be responsible for effective supervision of department staff to ensure that quality standards and productivity requirements are met. This individual will provide managerial and maintenance support to the fleet; the Shop Manager plays a key role in the overall success of our business.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized and understands the importance of providing top-notch customer service.

Responsibilities:
Training staff members in service methods, safety, policies and procedures;
Supervise all service and repair work performed at the facility;
Ensure proper repair procedures are implemented and followed;
Conduct safety inspections and assist on repair work as necessary;
Identifying and correcting potential work problems and health and safety issues;
Prepare a range of reports and hold responsibilities for effective budgeting and scheduling;
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of service technology and techniques;
Ensure quality of workmanship through verification of services & other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Red seal Transport Truck Mechanic or equivalent experience;
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a related field;
Parts experience considered an asset;
Certified to issue safeties (PMVI) on commercial trailers and motor vehicles considered a strong asset;
Ability to work independently in a busy environment;
Possess a valid driver’s license;
Strong focus to accuracy and detail along with exceptional time management skills;
Willing to work overtime is considered an asset.
