THE ROLE: CF messes retain a functional role as social and dining clubs, and are the centre of social life for units, stations bases and ships. They enhance the esprit de corps of units, lighten the load of demanding day-to-day work, give commanders an opportunity to meet socially with their troops, and enable CF members of all ranks to create bonds of friendship and better working relations through an atmosphere of good fellowship.
The bartender prepares and serves mixed drinks, wine, draft or bottled beer and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons. They maintain the inventory of bar stock, wash glassware, and ensure to keep the bar area clean. The bartender also ensures compliance with provincial liquor legislation and regulations

THE LOCATION: CFB Shilo is home to the First Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and the Second Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. With a population of about 1,400 military personnel and their families, the Base is completely autonomous with accommodations for more than 600 families and quarters for close to 400 single personnel.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
· High school diploma with some bartender experience or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
AND
· Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Manitoba (Age 18).
· Smart Choices Certification will be considered an asset.
· Experience Requirements:
• In serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
• In cash handling
• In providing customer service
• Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership (our shared competencies).
