OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH COORDINATOR/NURSE - WINNIPEG - Contract Role

The Opportunity:
The Occupational Health Coordinator/Nurse works closely with Managers, Supervisors and individual employees to promote occupational health, safety and environmental compliance in the plant.
Coordinates training, communications, involvement and accountability – supporting accident prevention and compliance programs. This position is accountable for ensuring compliance with all health and safety, food safety and HACCP regulations and procedures

A SNAP SHOT OF SOME OF THE EXCITING THINGS YOU WILL DO:
WCB, STD, and LTD claims management
Provide on-site direct health care to the employees
Treatment of occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses
Participates in the Occupational Health maintenance program through various activities.
Participate in programs such as blood pressure clinics, flu clinics, first aid and CPR training.
Teaching and encouraging employees to practice healthy lifestyles
Promoting a safe and healthy work environment
Referrals to employee assistance providers as necessary

Qualifications

What you will bring:
Registered Nurse
2 years’ experience and knowledge in the field of Occupational Health, with related experience in a manufacturing environment an important asset
Experience in WCB claims management an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with Union and Management
Strong computer skills
Able to thrive in a Company committed to high standards of safety
