Seeking an opportunity to support Manitoba workers and employers?
Our client, the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB), a mutual workplace injury and disability statutory corporation funded by employer premiums, is seeking a President and Chief Executive Officer. The WCB is governed by The Workers Compensation Act and Regulations. The WCB provides a wide range of valued services for injury prevention, compensation and return to health and work while maintaining the integrity of the system.
The President and Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic leadership of the WCB organization by working closely with the governing Board of Directors and executive team to ensure Manitoba workers and employers receive responsive, accessible, high quality, compassionate and cost effective prevention, insurance and back-to-work services. The President & CEO will create value for WCB’s customers and stakeholders through innovative products and services while ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization.
She/he will establish a high-performance organization with dedicated, skilled, engaged and customer-focused team members, efficient service delivery and administrative processes and risk practices that ensure revenues and liabilities are appropriately balanced. The President & CEO will ensure the organization establishes strong relationships with workers, employers, representative associations, all levels of government and the general community.
Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position will bring an advanced degree in business, finance, public administration or a related discipline complemented with a minimum of 10 years executive level experience in a large, multi-service environment. Demonstrated successful experience leading transformation, innovation and efficiency initiatives in a unionized environment is necessary. A strong understanding of insurance models and health practices and experience working in a public sector environment and supporting boards of directors are assets.
