Sewer & Water Chargehand
Overview
The Sewer and Water Chargehand will coordinate and direct the activities of the Sewer and Water Section including, but not limited to supervising, co-coordinating and scheduling the activities of workers who operate equipment, boilers, and machinery for the installation, repair, and maintenance of City’s sewer and water infrastructure.
Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Grade 12, G.E.D. or Mature High School Diploma;
Possess a valid and subsisting Class 3 with Air Manitoba’s Driver’s License;
Hold Class 1 & 2 Certification in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection;
Hold Class 3 Certification in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection or obtain within 12 months of appointment;
Hold Class 4 Certification in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection or obtain within 12 months of appointment if currently hold Class 3 Certification, obtain within 24 months of appointment if currently hold Class 2 Certification;
Required to obtain all certifications required by provincial regulations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary education;
Experience working with collective agreements or corporate policies an asset;
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in similar operations;
Experience and knowledge of equipment similar to that found in the Utilities section;
Maintenance management experience including planning, scheduling and budgeting.
