Senior Accounting Technician - Dauphin

West-Can Human Resource Solutions is currently recruiting for a Senior Accounting Technician on behalf of a company in Dauphin, Manitoba.
The Senior Accounting Technician position is a critical role within the company in providing support and technical services to our team of CPA’s and clients. This position is full time with full company benefits and salary dependent upon qualifications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation of compilation and review engagements including working papers and financial statements
• Assist in audit engagements
• Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
• Preparation of AgriStability and AgriInvest applications
• Performing reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable and receivable
• Preparation of regular external compliance filing such as GST, Source Deductions, T4s and T5s
• Completion of routine account analysis using established procedures
• Effective communication with clients, partners, and staff
• Work with accounting software: CaseWare, QuickBooks, SAGE, AgExpert and Profile
• Ability to provide ongoing support to clients

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• 1 + years’ experience working in similar role in a public accounting practice
• Knowledge of CaseWare, QuickBooks, SAGE, AgExpert, Profile and Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Able to work independently.
• High attention to detail including strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills with clients and team members
• Ability to work and complete tasks within deadlines
