This position is responsible for providing support to our Agronomy and Raw Commodity teams at Roquette Canada. Working directly with the Agronomy team to perform assigned tasks in a friendly, efficient manner while maintaining the positive relationship with the farm customers.
• Assist with agronomy research data collection in contracted pea fields and demonstration trials for pest presence and crop development
• Soil testing for soil borne disease and collection of plant samples for analysis
• Data entry to support our traceability program
• Review and record field and crop conditions
• Support Precision Agriculture project by documenting field practices of contracted farmers and assisting field truthing of field prescription
• Meet with Roquette farm customers to provide a positive customer service experience
Qualifications
Education:
Pursuing an Agriculture degree or diploma program focusing on Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science or Agribusiness.
Experience:
• Strong interest and knowledge of Agriculture and crop production, including basic pest identification;
• Completing projects within deadlines;
• Problem solving within a team environment;
• Farming/agricultural background an asset;
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in dusty conditions
• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner ie. Company vehicle, farm tractor
• Class 5 Drivers licence, Drivers Abstract will be required
• Knowledge of primary agriculture; crop production
