Tradesworker Level 2 - Greenspace Maintenance
Overview
To participate as part of a working team that performs, and may direct assigned workers engaged in, the maintenance and repair of City owned parks, pools, recreation and playground structures as well as irrigation and lighting systems. As most work is performed at locations used by the public for leisure and recreation purposes, detailed attention to safety is essential.
Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Grade 12, G.E.D., or Mature High School Diploma;
• Must obtain CSA certification for playground inspection within (1) year of appointment;
• Hold and maintain a valid Class 3 with Air Province of Manitoba Driver’s Licence;
• Required to obtain Pesticide Applicators License (Mosquito) within (1) year of appointment;
• Required to obtain Integrated Pest Management Certificate within (1) year of appointment
• Any other certifications as required by legislation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in carpentry construction, machinery operations, irrigation systems, facility maintenance, and outdoor pool maintenance; Aquatic Facility Operator's Course;
• Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management;.
• Working knowledge of plant nutrition, plant pathology, entomology, weed control and pesticide laws;
