Pacific Junction Daycare Incorporated (est. 1987), located in the heart of Charleswood, is looking to hire a Full Time CCA for our Preschool Program. We are a friendly, small, close-knit centre with a great community of caring staff, families and friends. We have a four space infant program and a 32 space preschool program.
We are looking for a flexible, organized, patient, creative, fun, compassionate and warm CCA to join our team. Who has a genuine interest in working with children from infant to preschool and a positive, friendly attitude. Has initiative, the capacity to work with minimal supervision and has excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Duties:
In this role, you will provide nurturing care and learning opportunities to children primarily in our preschool room. Candidates should be familiar with emergent curriculum and subscribe to a play based approach. We are looking for an individual that is positive and has lots of energy and creativity. You will participate in telling stories, teaching songs, preparing craft materials and providing opportunities for creative expression. Our preschool room requires an individual whom is able to work as part of a team, as well as independently. This role requires duties such as preparing snacks, outdoor play, changing diapers, art activities and implementing circle time for your group. Our centres collective goal is to meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of every child.
Qualifications
Potential candidates must:
• have valid certification in Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR.
• produce satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
• be qualified as an CCA with 2-3 years experience in a licensed child care setting
• be nurturing and have positive behaviour management skills
• be able to plan and implement a fun, child-inspired program
• have interpersonal skills to effectively work with children, families, community and peers
• be confident, willing to work as a team and have a positive attitude
• have or be willing to complete 40 hour Science of Early Child Development Course with in your 1st year of employment at Pacific Junction Daycare and be reimbursed for cost after proof of passing grade.
