Child Care Assistant Part time
Overview
Pacific Junction daycare Inc. located in the heart of Charleswood is seeking Child Care Assistant to work part time hours at our child care facility.
We are looking for a flexible, organized, patient, creative, fun, compassionate and warm CCA to join our team. Who has a genuine interest in working with children from infant to preschool and a positive, friendly attitude. Has initiative, the capacity to work with minimal supervision and has excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Individuals must be 18+, have experience working with young children, have or willing to get child care certification from Early Learning and Child Care, current first aid and CPR, criminal record and child abuse checks (within the last three months) and have or be willing to complete 40 hour Science of Early Child Development Course with in your 1st year of employment at Pacific Junction Daycare and be reimbursed for cost after proof of passing grade.
Qualifications
Duties included but not limited to:
*the ability to maintain consistency with policies, behaviour management, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism and reliability.
* plan and create a safe, attractive environment that is functional for play and learning
* help maintain all COVID-19 guidelines for child care centre
* maintaining ratio - providing nurturing and support to children
* be involved with children in play, while also supervising the group
* have developmentally appropriate expectations for each child and build on individual skills
* participate in indoor and outdoor activities, observing safety guidelines and procedures
* have clear communication will children, families and team members
* participate in general cleanup, simple repairs, sorting equipment and rotating toys
*guide the children's behaviour according to the center policy
*know fire regulations and evacuation routes
*carry out activities as assigned by the Director or Supervisor
*advise the Director or Supervisor of any concerns parents may share with you
*observe good health practices
Hours will be: 1:15 pm – 5:30 pm daily with a possibility extra Sub hours
