Field Service Technician
Overview
Do you enjoy working with the newest telecom technology? Enjoy interacting with people and providing excellent customer service? Becoming a TV & Internet Technician may be for you!
Our technicians both install and repair telecom services in Brandon and the surrounding areas. They work with copper network systems and fibre optic systems. They are the face of the company and work the front line in the field.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing exceptional customer service in all aspects of the position
- Installing and repairing residential and business TV, internet, and phone services
- Using a range of telecom specific tools effectively and precisely
- Work in all weather conditions and indoor settings
- Build your skills relating to the position and maintain this knowledge
You can work as little or as much as you'd like. As a subcontractor you decide your own schedule and income level.
Our technicians average around 50,000 /year but can make upwards of 75k. Part time technicians see typically around the 30-40k mark, again this all depends on what you are willing to work.
myITsource can assist with the tools costs and ladder related costs. All training is provided and a Bell MTS laptop is currently issued for field work. There are incentive & bonus structures in place from Bell MTS, which will be discussed during an interview.
Qualifications
- Using your personal vehicle for this position, carry a 28ft collapsible fiber glass ladder. An SUV, Van or Truck ideally not more than 10 years old. We can assist with the ladder cost and a ladder rack if need be.
- Ensure you have adequate tools to perform the work
- Working safely and responsibly by following safety policies from Bell MTS & myITsource
- Satisfactory criminal record check, Bell specific. Please do not get one done locally as Bell only accepts Triton CRC.
- Cell phone with data, to maintain communication with the control centre ( Bell MTS to provide a phone start of 2022 )
- A strong willingness to learn Bell MTS policy and procedures, training is paid at an hourly rate.
